The Beauvechain Heritage Following the 350 Squadron’s transfer to the Belgian Air Force in 1946, the unit was stationed at Beauvechain Air Base as part of the 1st Fighter Wing. During this long-standing tenure alongside the 349 Squadron, color-coding was frequently utilized to provide quick visual differentiation between the two elite units; while the 350 Squadron adopted red as its signature color, the 349 Squadron was traditionally associated with blue. This red variation of the Royal Air Force-style crest—featuring the iconic head of Ambiorix—was famously displayed on the tail bands of the squadron’s aircraft, including the legendary F-104G Starfighters and the early F-16 Fighting Falcons. This patch serves as a technical record of the 350 Squadron’s presence and leadership within this multinational environment
